Time Commitment: Full Time (8-months Renewable)
Location: Bandung
Yayasan Project HOPE (YPH) has been known in Indonesia since 1960 when the hospital ship USS HOPE visited Indonesia as part of its visit to several countries for humanitarian opera ons. Yayasan Project HOPE manages several programs in the areas of Infec on Diseases, Tuberculosis Laboratory Strengthening, Maternal Neonatal Health, COVID-19 Emergency Response and Mental Health. It is also establishing an emergency response hub to strengthen emergency response opera ng systems in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of Program Managers and direct supervision of Program Coordinator – Community and Mental Health, the Field Officer will be responsible to provide support for the implementa on of Community and Mental Health programs at the district interven ons level and other ac vi es as assigned to improve the quality and effec veness of YPH community health and mental health capabili es. She/he is also expected to assist in implemen ng the integra on of mental health service at the selected primary health care (PHC) and hospital levels in the selected districts.

Responsibilities

Representing Yayasan Project HOPE in coordina ng Mental Health program (Bandung) ac vi es with District Health Offices including other relevant stakeholders at the duty sta on.
Ensures effec ve planning, implementa on, monitoring, and follow-up of the programs based in selected districts.
Builds and maintains posi ve working rela onships/networks with other YPH program teams (such as IPC FO), health authori es, health staff other health actors, and local authori es.
Cooperates with other YPH departments to ensure a collabora ve and integrated approach, and in line with YPH’s communica on procedures and the strategy of the Sub- Delega on.
Keeps track of all the ac vi es that have been completed as well as the accomplishments that have been obtained. Documenta on includes the output of ac vi es (i.e., documents, photos, videos, TOR, stories/tes monials from beneficiaries, and so on) as well as records and identified potential challenges in the project’s implementa on, and report it regularly following the specified deadlines, formats, and repor ng mechanism.
Assists the Program Coordinator and Program Managers in implemen ng the scale-up of a comprehensive package of program interven ons in selected districts.
Ensures op mal and proac ve measures are taken to ensure the work plan is carried out with a high level of quality.
Submits to the supervisor weekly field reports on the district(s) progress and weekly ac vity plans, including allowance requested (if any), to the Program Coordinator at least 5 (five) working days in advance of when response and transport allowance is required. Allowances for future ac vi es cannot be given unless the field reports have been submited for completed activities.
Provide expense reports that occur at the duty sta on and submit them to the Finance and Admin departments through document tracker by following the procedures and rules that apply at YPH.
Conducts regular supervision and provides in-the-job mentorship to support the integra on of mental health service at the primary health care level.
Conducts rou ne monitoring by implemen ng methodology and tools for quality assurance of all aspects of program scale-up (conduct monitoring follow-up/ac on plan from meetings, trainings, and field visit).
Participates and assists in conducting surveys, assessments, and training, as well as data collection and analysis as required.
Supports logis c ac vi es on interven on site when and wherever needed.
Executes tasks beyond the scope of this job descrip on and offers assistance to other ongoing and new programs when necessary and as assigned, solely at the discre on of the Supervisor.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree is preferred, in the field of public health, nursing, psychology, community mobilization or other relevant fields.
1-2 years of experience in project support (management, planning, staff development and training skills) in the public health sector, community engagements, and mobilization.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
Strong writing, presenta on, and communica on skills.
Excellent ability to handle multiple tasks and many administra ve details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
Computer proficiency should include Word, Excel, and other general experience with so ware programs.
Proficiency in English and local language is essential.
Willingness to travel to another district for work.
Preferred Qualifications

Preferably those who have experience working with non-governmental organizations.
Preferably those who have experience working on community-based mental health program.
Be comfortable interacing with new people and groups both one-on-one and for large gatherings.
Be able to motivate above in positive collaboration.
Exercise problem solving skills in day to day and crisis situations.
